Lee Ann Guttman, 93, Of Palisades

PALISADES, N.Y.  -- Lee Ann Guttman, of Palisades, died Nov. 8. She was 93.

She was born March 26, 1923, to Jerome and Sadie (Babescu) Sterling in New York City, where she was raised and spent her childhood. 

She worked for many years as a teacher's aide in the South Orangetown School District. She also worked as a volunteer every week for 30 years at Tappan Zee Thrift Shop in Piermont in support of the Palisades Library. She was an avid reader, enjoyed films from the 1930s and 1940s, and was fond of singing, particularly songs from "The American Songbook". 

She iwas predeceased by her husband, Paul Dennis Guttman; and her twin brother, Sheldon. 

She is survived by her children, Jon, Robert, Celeste Bocian and Nora Kramer; and her grandchildren; Benjamin Kramer, Matthew Kramer, Asher Kramer, Peter Bocian and Rebecca Bocian.

The family gathered privately for a funeral service at the Moritz Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations or gifts be made to her favorite charity, the Tappan Zee Thrift Shop, 454 Piermont Ave., Piermont, NY 10968.
